Families can have fun without spending a great deal of money and all it takes is a little imagination, time and planning. For a good time and little expense, try visiting a national forest. There are 157 national forests in the US that offer many interesting areas to explore and investigate. At a national forest you can see wildlife, go biking, sight seeing, swimming and boating. There is usually an entry fee but often it is inexpensive. And, if you want to stay several days, bring along a tent, food and other necessities.
What about some Time at a Mall?
You and your family can also spend some enjoyable time at a local mall. Most malls have a variety of stores and sometimes they provide free entertainment. If you’re interested in baseball, you can take the whole family and enjoy an outdoor game and in some cases, enjoy baseball giveaways and cheap seats. By being outdoors and with the family, this can be a fun event for everyone. Still another way to have fun with the family is to take the family to the library and stock up on some good books. Let everyone in the family pick out books that interest them and then enjoy them at home or at a nearby park.
Board Games and Bowling can be Great Fun!
Many families for years have been entertained by such games as Sorry, Monopoly, Scrabble and card games. These games are inexpensive and can provide hours of fun. Hasbro has some new express games that will be coming out soon. They are newer versions of Monopoly, Sorry and Scrabble and only take 20 minutes or less to complete.
For even more fun, try a game of bowling with the family. Bowling is fun and has been popular with families for years. Bowling is an easy game and each town has at least one or two bowling alleys. Bowling scores are now computer generated and that makes keeping the scores easy and fun. There are many advantages to bowling such as getting some extra exercise and a way for the family to engage in some healthy competition. Children, especially, enjoy throwing the ball down the lane and watching the pins fall over. It is a game your children will remember as they grow older.
A Bowling Pro Shop is usually available at local alleys and they can get you started if its your first time.
